The worst lad ever asked his date for his €5 coffee money back when she rejected him

Ah HERE.

LAUREN CROUCH RUNS the blog No Bad Dates, Just Good Stories.

There, she writes about her quest to find Mr. Right and all the terrible dates she’s been on. (And to be fair, she’s had her fair share.)

This one might just take the biscuit, though.

Crouch met a young man for a coffee in Costa. Afterwards, he invited her back to his house for dinner as he needed to be there to sign for a package. She declined to go back to his house and what ensued was the worst text conversation in history.

First, he tried to ask her out again.

And when she declined, things got real.

Yep, he asked for the price of the coffee back.

She dealt with the whole thing in a fairly heroic manner.

Instead of just replying, “Er, are you joking?” she offered to donate £3.50 (€4.95) to charity instead.

But he was having none of it.

HE SENT HIS SORT CODE AND ACCOUNT NUMBER.

All for a fiver! Jesus wept.

For the record, Crouch has said on Twitter that she did not put the money back in his account. As she wrote on her blog:

Yes you do decide yourself what to do with your money, and last night you decided to spend it on a coffee. I don’t come with a money back guarantee. Dates aren’t commodities.

Damn straight.
